EMBRACE THE ECSTASY OF TEENGIRL FANTASY

Seeing Teengirl Fantasy play in a 1,000° basement in humid NYC weather was like swimming through prisms and pot smoke and hair and limbs. For the first time in a long time, everybody was dancing. There comes a point when you are so WET you have to forget about it but about twice I went upstairs because I felt nausea. This band, my current favorite in Brooklyn, explores 4/4 tempos which build in complexity and cap off. They squish supernatural vocals through channels but perform them live, and submerge crowds in a wall of techno-shoegaze until it's made clear you have to slam dance your way to the end before your brain melts. These are 2 of my favorite tracks, from my new #1 crushes.
