Style Flashback | The Frozen Autumn

The Frozen Autumn are an early-90s Italian goth band from Turin who've continued to make music as recently as 2005. As I spend every Wednesday night submerged in the foggy doom pit of Home Sweet Home's Wierd Records party, I've heard this song a few times and always wondered who the band was. I once summoned the courage to approach Pieter--the sire of Wierd's parties and the label itself--and ask him who it was. He only stared back at me, visibly incredulous that I would even dare. Then again, I was probably slurring my words and lolling my eyeballs back into my skull from stomach pollution or else wearing a Spice Girls t-shirt so who could have blamed him?
Last week I sent my new goth boyfriend over to ask him again for me and Pieter immediately gave up the answer. Being a hulking Argentinean drummer with JAMC hair gets you everywhere, I guess. Or else having a shred of dignity might help. Regardless, here is the anthem of angst I've been searching for... and it's seven minutes and fifty-five seconds long, even! Apologies to Pieter for unmasking one of his treasures. I suggest you YouTube them for the full effect of their ethos, begging for imitation and totally ripe for the stealing. I
